Firstly to all the fans and fellow reviewers if this is a modern Australian restaurant then I am from Mars. I went to this place expecting modern Australian cuisine and the persisting flavor was French (aside from Pavlova on dessert menu) which was confusing throughout my entrée and main until I gathered enough evidence and nerve to ask the maître d about the cuisine. Color me not astonished it is a French restaurant. And if anyone has any doubt because of the small fresh spring roll that come with the pork belly I challenge you to go to France and see how many restaurants serve spring rolls. It is even argued by some French chefs that the origins of the spring roll is German or French and was introduced to Asia in the late 1600s Well now that we know it’s a French restaurant, French chef we can accurately gage the food. HIGH END AND VERY AFFORDABLE! I went with my partner for dinner and we had a massive surprise. Prices in the menu are really affordable and the food is just delicious. It is fine dinning at it's best, perfect balance of flavors and service. Everything was perfect and the front of house staff were very friendly. Congratulations to the Chef and staff! They are doing an amazing job. Will go over and over again.
This restaurant is not prepared for a large party. Our wait was unacceptable and the food was not worth the time or money. From the last of our party of 15 arriving at 7.15pm we didn't get our entrees until 8.30pm, mains at 9.45pm, and dessert at 10.30pm. I'm also incredibly disappointed at witnessing my dessert at another table an hour earlier at least 2-3 times the size of what I received later in the night. The size of the portions spaced so far apart meant I left still feeling hungry, not what I would expect from a $75 meal. A complimentary two bowls of chips (between 15 people) is not enough to make up for the poor experience, and while I appreciate the sincere apologies from front of house (who seemed just as frustrated as I was), I will not bother returning here.
The music was very loud, the service was not great and there was no coffee (and some of the desserts were not available)
My friends and I had a lovely dinner at this restaurant. The decor and service were fantastic. We enjoyed engaging in long conversations, and when the food arrived, it was delicious. The wine selection was also top-notch. Overall, we had a wonderful night.
