**The Slab: A Pizza Experience with Promise and Pitfalls** The Slab has garnered attention for its extensive variety of pizza flavors and budget-friendly prices, delighting many with delicious options like the Thai chicken and chicken bacon ranch pizzas. Their gluten-free crust earns accolades for its crispy texture. However, recent visits reveal significant room for improvement. Complaints about subpar cheese pizzas and a decline in quality, including missing ingredients and slow service, raise concerns. Additionally, health hazards such as leaking ceilings add to the disappointment. While The Slab holds nostalgic value for some, inconsistent quality and service issues may deter return visits.
In order to be a good pizza place, you have to be able to nail a cheese pizza, and the slab does not. Their sauce and crust lack good flavor, and the crust also lacks that initial crunch then chewy texture. It's not bad pizza, but not the greatest step up from other standard chain delivery options. Would rather spend my money elsewhere.
I am VERY disappointed in the service I received today. I ordered my pizza online and received a text that said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I showed up at the 18 minute mark and they told me it would be about a 4-6 minute wait still. When I arrived at the 18 minute mark there was no one in line and only one other person in the restaurant. I then ended up sitting at the restaurant for an ADDITIONAL 20 minutes before my pizza was ready. This was DOUBLE the amount of time I was told when I put my order in. I like SLAB pizza and have come here frequently but I did NOT appreciate how I was treated today. That was extremely poor service. Because of this experience I may not return to SLAB and encourage others if they experience this type of service to not return as well. If they want my continued patronage they need to treat their customers better.
The Slab has been a favorite of my wife and me for quite some time. We love the variety of flavors offered here, which surpasses any other pizza place we've visited! Not long ago, we conducted a "pizza bracket" challenge where we sampled all the popular pizza spots in Utah County, evaluating their pizzas on various criteria and trying different options during multiple visits. The Slab emerged as the winner of our bracket based solely on the quality of the pizza. However, I can't give it a full 5-star rating because the service leaves much to be desired; it can be unprofessional and slow when delivering pizzas to the table. Additionally, we were disappointed to find that they now only provide a small sheet of tin foil for our leftover three slices rather than takeout boxes, which felt rather inadequate. Lastly, I've noticed that the quality of the pizza can vary depending on who is cooking; some chefs there definitely have more experience than others, and it's easy to tell when we end up with the less skilled ones.

Apart from the ceiling leaking water all over the restaurant, both in the dining room and the kitchen, which has got to be a health and safety risk, it took them the best part of 45 minutes to get 1/4 of a Thai chicken pizza. When it finally didarrive, there was no peanut sauce on it as described on the menu on the wall, when I asked the guy where it was, he said theyhadn?t done it for 3 years?so our Thai chicken pizza was just, well, chicken. SLAB was great when it first opened, but it hasseriously deteriorated.
