Located in Portland, this restaurant uniquely shares a space with another establishment that serves pizza. The restaurant we visited had good service, but the portions were small and overpriced, with some dishes being underwhelming in flavor. Despite this, the wine selection was good and reasonably priced. On another visit, the food was disappointing, lacking the classic Italian flavors expected. However, the ambiance, service, and drinks were enjoyable. One reviewer had a mixed experience with their special requests, while another found the butter and salt overwhelming in the creative dishes. This dining spot has received praise in other reviews for its fantastic Italian cuisine, cask-aged drinks, and excellent specials. The outdoor and indoor seating options are highlighted, along with the consistent quality of the food and service. One customer raved about the perfect pairing of their pasta dish with house white wine, while another shared the experience of returning to the restaurant with family after many years and enjoying the delicious pasta and desserts. Overall, despite some mixed reviews, this restaurant seems to be a favorite among many patrons for its Italian fare, drinks, and inviting atmosphere.
What Milo M likes about Caffe Mingo:
You can see the chefs making the pasta if you sit near the back. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Not too loud or bright. Server recommended a wine that went perfectly with my dinner too. View all feedback.
What Maye Fritsch doesn't like about Caffe Mingo:
Odd setup with two restaurants next to one another with virtually the same name. One serves pizza, one doesn't. The one that doesn't, where we ate at, had good service, but overpriced, small portions, not really well prepared. Small portion of bland lasagna and very greasy lamb pasta special. Wine was good, not too expensive per glass. Should have eaten next door at the restaurant that serves pizza. View all feedback.
