Like to chill out at the weekends in the Grove. Though there are quite a few bars and places to hang out Grove is our favourite. Used to be Mai Tai but the crowds there seems to be getting younger every week. Sometimes we eat...at Grove and their menu though not extensive are good quality meals at reasonable prices. My friend recommended this restaurant to me after its renovation. Despite being impressed with the changes they have made, I was disappointed with the lack of customer service, casual atmosphere, and poor quality food. When we arrived, we were asked for our drink order before even being seated. When we requested a drink menu, we were informed that they did not have one. This was the first error. After waiting for a while, our food finally arrived and it was extremely disappointing. We could have gotten similar food at a diner for a fraction of the price. This was the second error. The staff at this restaurant have a very laid-back attitude, which may be appealing to some customers but does not create a welcoming or dynamic atmosphere for a recently renovated establishment. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience.

One of the best experiences I have had for going out for an early evening drink. We were greeted with a lovely Aussie chap with a big smile and served at the bar by Liam. The service was fantastic and Aussie made us aware of...the food deals for that evening and convinced us to have a meal. The atmosphere was lovely and we noticed that the two staff were very attentive to their customers and any issues the happened to the customers! Very commendable of them! We will definitely return as the staff were lovely and well mannered and well experienced, and the food was fantastic!
The worst experience I have ever had of going out for an early evening drink. The unwelcoming, rude, bad attitude and know it all member of staff was a put off from the moment we started to order. It got worse from then on. Why...do bars employ inexperienced staff who clearly want to be somewhere else other than serving customers? Wearing a woolly hat whilst working and calling customers mate is not what I expect from this sort of establishment. It gives out mixed and confusing messages about the type of clientele they're trying to attract. We will certainly not be revisiting!
I visited The Grove restaurant back in September and was delighted with the food and service I received. On my second visit last weekend, I was initially concerned when I saw the name had changed to Dancing Moose, fearing there may be new owners, chefs, and staff. However, everything was the same and my experience was just as good, if not better than before! A friendly young lady greeted me warmly and went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed, even providing a water bowl for my dog. The drinks did take a bit longer to arrive due to the busy café, but when my food arrived, it was absolutely delicious. The new menu had a Christmas theme, which I thought was fantastic. The Dancing Moose is simply brilliant!
