Was Samuel Martin at Rick Stein a mag?
Rick Stein was amazing. I love that the waiter that served us later drove us home as part of Rick Stein hospitality in a brand new Mercedes S Class. The food was very good I liked that the sashimi wasn't as clean cut as a Japanese restaurant giving it a rawness, and the Red Roe on the scallops was a lovely touch. The wild Turbot was good but the portion small for £42. An overall very good experience. Thank you. View all feedback.
What Ольга Ольга dislikes about Rick Stein:
Very disappointing visit. Loads of staff in the place, but simms not many of them know what to do. Our ordered food waiter brought to another table, later mistake was rectified but quite few other mistakes were made during our dining, which left unpleasant memories. Food was average. Lovely views from window tables. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 View all feedback.
Special day for us. The place is as just amazing, the food very tasty, the wine delicious and at the right temperature. The waiter was courteous, knowing every single item in the menu. The view was great. Thank you. For sure we will be visiting again! P.S: thanks for the surprise ‘ Anniversary ’ desert. My wife was delighted by your gesture and by the taste .
I’ve been here twice and both times I’ve hoped to be swept away by all the greatness that goes along with the Rick Stein brand. The food is lovely but just doesn’t quite get to ‘wow’ status which makes me doubt whether it’s worth the hefty price tag for the normal a la carte menu. On my second trip, I tried the set menu which is more reasonably priced at £35 per person. Starter (fish soup) and mains (pan fried hake) were delicious but the desert was really disappointing it was meant to be a tiramisu but the sponge was hard and the cream was runny like milk. Service can be a bit off too it can be very busy and it can feel hard to get attention when you need it.
Had a wonderful lunch with my family. They do a set menu of three courses which was very good. We did not book, but it was a Monday and took a chance that we would get a table. We were lucky and were given one overlooking the harbour. It was perfect. Staff and food were excellent and we would definitely return if we were in the area.
Quality oysters to start, one of each, small, medium and large. All excellent though perhaps missing some of the sea juice, being rather dry. My husband had excellent scallop succotash, an unusual combination which worked. I was pretty boring and had cod and chips but...
