**Dining at Panda Express: A Mixed Bag at PHX Airport** Panda Express at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport offers a blend of fast service and affordable prices, appealing to travelers in Terminal A. While many praise its quick turnover and freshness, others report disappointing dishes, with flavorless fried rice and overly seasoned orange chicken. Concerns about cleanliness also arose, with instances of staff not adhering to proper hygiene practices. Despite the favorable location and accessibility, experiences remain inconsistent, leaving some patrons eager to explore other dining options. Overall, while it aims to deliver a convenient meal, expectations for quality and flavor may vary greatly.
Located in PHX airport Terminal A 1-12 gates. I?m a fan of PE. It?s quick and reasonable price, for an airport, and it tastes good. The line moves fast at this location and everything is hot and fresh.
I ordered the orange chicken with lo mein noodles. Unfortunately, the noodles were hard and dry, and the flavor of the orange chicken was so overwhelming that it was difficult to enjoy. This was my first experience at the restaurant, and when I returned to try something different, they refused to offer me anything else with just a 10% discount. It was my first visit to this chain, and it will definitely be my last.
Wow. Mixed vegetables is plain steamed broccoli. PLAIN The black pepper chicken is more like slime chicken. There wasn?t much to choose, but I can guess it would probably be just as terrible as this stuff. Service, was nonexistent.
After a long flight, I was looking forward to my Panda meal while waiting for another. I ordered a plate of rice and noodles with shrimp and mushroom chicken from A4 after starting my order at B19. Unfortunately, the shrimp was overly greasy, and the rice was extremely undercooked—I could hardly swallow it. This isn't the first time I've received a meal like this. Don't the staff know how to check if the rice is properly cooked? At the very least, they could warn customers not to order it and prepare a fresh batch instead.
I’m giving this place two stars for the great food, but I’m deducting three for the service. After I received my meal, I went to grab a soda, but all the bottles were warm, including the ones at the back. I ended up settling for a "cool" Sierra Mist. The cashier, who looked exhausted and was distracted on her phone, clearly saw me searching for a cold drink but didn’t offer any help. I understand—she might not have had any cold options available. But as I sat down to eat, I noticed another customer making a similar comment about the warm drinks, and she quickly went to fetch him a cold one from the back fridge. This frustrated me. If there were cold drinks available, why wasn’t she rotating them with the warm ones in front? It seemed like she was more focused on her phone than on providing good customer service. I really hope the management takes note of this situation and improves employee training for better service. Also, I want to mention that there’s very limited seating—only about 22 seats—and realistically, even less because people tend to occupy extra seats with their bags. This is a terminal with hundreds of people passing through every few hours, so I’m sure this has been an ongoing issue. Again, this isn’t necessarily the restaurant's fault, but just be prepared for very little seating. You might find yourself having to eat off your lap at the gate!
