great eating and a decent cup yorkshire tee. next to a small parking space and next to greenberfield curls, this is a super place to stop eating and drinking something, and website next to the leeds liverpool channel. it is very close to the upper sluice, so viewing the boot in the locks is also an option. the staff were very friendly and willing to have a chat about everything. I went for a walk from Barnoldswick and decided to visit Greenberfield Locks to enjoy the local towpaths, with the intention of stopping for a cup of tea. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the tempting homemade cakes on offer. After indulging in a slice of Coffee and Walnut cake for later, I enjoyed a freshly cooked Bacon buttie, which was exceptional and definitely worth the stop. I plan on making this a regular stop for me, although sadly they are only open from April to September. The warm and friendly welcome added to the great overall experience.
Running late for breakfast but early for lunch the Lock Stop bacon and egg sandwich roll hit the spot. Pleasant and chatty owner kept up conversation while our food was prepared. Top quality bacon done to a turn. Sensible covid measures were in place.
An ideal stopping off point for walkers, canal boats and with a spacious car park for those less active !! An extensive menu is on offer, all of which are freshly prepared. The proprietors are very pleasant and welcoming.
We stopped for ice cream on a Sunny day, and wanted ice creams that would normally come in cones, but we wanted to keep it until after lunch the proprietor quickly offered to put it in lidded cups instead of cones so we could store it in our boat's freezer. We subsequently stopped there for lunch on a rainy day and were provided with china plates and trays to take the food back to our boat where we could eat out of the rain. Both the lunch and ice cream were delicious and the service was very friendly and helpful.
