We stayed at the lodge and made a last-minute reservation at the Gas House restaurant. They were able to accommodate us despite being very popular, offering a great selection of delicious gastropub dishes. The food was excellent, and the other dishes we saw looked tempting as well. Overall, a great dining experience. View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Fence Gate Inn:
Very poor service, over and hour and a half sat at the table and still hadn’t cleared out starter plates never mind had our main. Had to ask twice for drinks and the plates to be cleared. Food was ok. Will not be eating here...again until something changes. View all feedback.
What a wonderful restaurant, excellent value for money, friendly and attentive staff, lovely choice on the menu and beautiful surroundings. Would highly recommend.
We were dumped in the top room in the far corner. Took ages to take our order, took even longer for them to clear our plates and had to flag a waitress down THREE times for a drink. Disappointing as this place used to be...so much better! Salt and pepper king prawns were very tasty. I had the surf and turf off the specials menu which specified ‘prawns’ (plural)… only got one! However, it did have plenty of veg which was good. Waitress just put the food down and ran off. Overall felt very neglected.
Went for lunch food, service and prices OK. Good selection of dishes and wine. Not a favourite but would go again
Last night we went to this restaurant for dinner. It was not crowded when we arrived. The staff was friendly and courteous. The menu had a wide variety of options. Our order was promptly taken and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The dishes and drinks were served hot and beautifully presented.
We stopped by just for a drink, but I have to admit that this pub is absolutely gorgeous. Adorned with ivy and hanging baskets, it is visually stunning. The selection of beer and lager is excellent. Additionally, it was once Guinness World Record holder for the largest variety of gins, with over 600 different options.
