We started with some appetizers and were particularly taken with the mushrooms – they were fabulous! Every dish we tried was exceptional. The desserts we brought home were delightful as well. It's hard to really evaluate this place. My family enjoyed Tuscan tavern. Our server was polite and looked at our needs. All he said about the food and everything on the menu seemed great. We started with two appetizers from Shrimp and Oysters. They were shrimps and oysters each served on a french french french frying bed with a dipping sauce. The shrimp bread seemed like they were frozen out of a box, but the shrimps themselves were freshly tasting, very strange. The diving sauce seemed like a tasteful ketchup. It's really weird that I serve Pommes with an appetizer. The most important courses were much better, the tomatoes on my salad were very fresh. The chicken of my wife had the same bread that the shrimps had almost cooked over, almost burned bread crumbs. This place was good in my book.
Let me start by saying the food is totally amazing. The reason that I didn't give 5 full stars is that the wait here can be obnoxious. We went on a Wednesday evening, it wasn't busy. It took almost an hour to just get bread. Which if your not in a rush that is okay, but I have 2 small kids. We ordered our meals at 6:30pm and didn't get our meal till 8:30pm. Seemed crazy. They did make it right by not charging for a ton of beer and our soups. We have gone a few times with and without kids, like I said the food is well worth the wait!
Always a slam dunk! We have been to Tuscan Tavern many times! The waiter is always on top of things and very polite! He knows the menu very well and the food is always freshly made and delicious. This is definitely one of our favorite places to eat.
My favorite finds are good strip mall restaurants, and Tuscan Tavern exceeds expectations. Subdued and comfortable decor with just enough Italian tackiness to make one feel right at home. Entrees are scrumptious, authentic, and large enough for 2 3meals. All come with a cup of chicken vegetable soup. Will definitely make a return visit and try other items on extensivemenu.
The restaurant is wonderful! There are fresh roses on every table, which adds a lovely touch. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance—not so quiet that you can’t enjoy a lively conversation, but also not as noisy as places like T.G.I. Friday's. The food portions are definitely worth the price, and the wine selection is impressive. My only concern was with the service; we only saw our waitress twice—once to take our order and again to deliver the check. It’s difficult to tip someone who didn’t bring our drinks, serve the food, or clear our dishes. If we encountered any issues in between, we had to handle them ourselves. Despite this, I would highly recommend the Tuscan Tavern for a lovely night out.
