We recently had Father's Day tea at the hotel in the front lounge (not technically the restaurant which was in the back). It was a really delicious tea, freshly made sandwiches, scones with cream and freshly baked cakes and pastries. It was all very good value as well. Went as part of a dining club outing. The service was patchy and a bit overrun otherwise charming. Portions were generally generous, I had an enormous skate wing but the black butter was tasteless. an excellent soufflé starter was off set by a cold rough crème brulee. I would not return.
