We recently had Father's Day tea at the hotel in the front lounge (not technically the restaurant which was in the back). It was a really delicious tea, freshly made sandwiches, scones with cream and freshly baked cakes and pastries. It was all very good value as well. What made it all extra special was Dominic, who served us. He really could not have done more to make us feel welcome and at home bringing extra sandw... View all feedback.
What Facchino46 doesn't like about Offley Place:
Went as part of a dining club outing. The service was patchy and a bit overrun otherwise charming. Portions were generally generous, I had an enormous skate wing but the black butter was tasteless. an excellent soufflé starter was off set by a cold rough crème brulee. I would not return. My wife and I experienced afternoon tea today and would highly recommend it and the excellent service from the staff, we have been using offley place for many years for lunch and dinner and also held our daughters wedding here some two years ago and again highly recomend all of the hotels aspects
So it was that time of year again to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, so the family headed off to Offley Place. It's always a guaranteed hit with us all as the Sunday roast is a good one, the service is spot on and you can sit in the beautiful surroundings of the Orangerie looking out on the grounds and village cricket field. On the whole we were not disappointed, but on this visit they seem to have substituted the luxurious padded chairs and armchairs that you usually sit in to eat dinner, with a rather small and comparatively uncomfortable bamboo-effect standard seat...it didn't really ruin anything, but when I asked the waitress she said they were being used in the marquee for another event. I only hope it is temporary as I do like to lounge when I eat my Sunday roast.
Brilliant service, friendly staff and excellent food, would definitely have dinner here if you stay at the hotel, highly recommended.
Three of us went one Sunday for a cream tea. Lovely scones, cream and jam. We sat in the conservatory with other guests (it was raining) and had a jolly nice time. The only thing I would say is that we had to get up, leave our seat to find someone to order more cream, jam, tea and scones, so they could do with a member of staff on the door ready to make eye contact. I want to say that Claire is a very good and lovely waitress. Would definitely return for cream tea or afternoon tea. Well done Ofley place.
Very easy to book by phone, pre dinner drinks with a nice view over the grounds, pleasant staff, very attentive and friendly. The meal was extremely nice, we both enjoyed washed down with a bottle of Fleurie, will definitely return and would recommend, by only negative would be the lack of atmosphere, just music playing as background sound but it did give us a good chance to just talk and celebrate our time together.
