Despite the friendly atmosphere and helpful service, some were disappointed with the food quality, particularly the chicken schnitzel that was described as tasteless and the overcooked fries. In contrast, others praised the scrambled eggs with bacon on sourdough for being perfectly cooked and flavorful, along with a delicious cafe latte. Regular customers enjoy the sliders and eggs benedict, with positive feedback on the food quality and great coffee. The cafe offers a great spot to people-watch and enjoy the trendy Newtown vibe. While some found the coffee weak and cool, others appreciated the thick foam. Overall, this cafe is recommended for a casual breakfast or lunch spot, with mixed reviews on food quality and coffee strength. The atmosphere is praised for its chill vibe, and the friendly staff add to the positive experience.
What Carolyne Gleason likes about Cafe Newtown:
Came here for a little "second lunch". Just had the roasted Turkish bread with peanut butter and a cappuccino. Grief
Would prefer uncovered peanut butter, but still good. Coffee was pretty weak and very cool (not hot, not that warm). However, much thicker foam I enjoy :)
The atmosphere was great, they could just sit there and go to Newtown Go-Ers. Also beautiful employees. Toilets are relatively clean.

What Callie Halvorson doesn't like about Cafe Newtown:
Top position in the middle of the action and a pleasant space with fast service, seems good value too. The coffee might have been a little bitter but it was strong and rough and syrupy, how I like it. The croissant was a little chewy but very buttery and also huge, despite being pretty cheap.
