A recent dining experience at Pretto left a lot to be desired, with disappointing dishes and service mishaps. Despite being highly rated on Open Table, the specials fell short with lukewarm pasta, tough chicken, and bland Arctic char. The confusion over reservations didn't help matters either. However, on the flip side, the cozy ambiance, decent food, and friendly service made for a pleasant meal for one group, even if the toddler's spaghetti came with a hefty price tag. In contrast, other diners faced long wait times, rude staff, and subpar food quality. Despite the mixed reviews, diners have found gems like the linguini with clams and meatballs, delicious tiramisu, and excellent wine offerings. However, incidents with poor service, stingy drink pours, and defensive management left a bitter taste for some, prompting them to swear off a return visit. Overall, Rincon Argentino Santa Fe stands out for its quality meat and top-notch service, making it a standout dining destination in Western Mexico City.
What FamousFresser likes about Pretto:
Very gracious service. Tasty, nicely presented food. Unfortunately, the A/C wasn't working properly; and the tiny fan provided didn't do the trick on this hot and humid summer evening. Left here with the feeling of wanting to help these hardworking people succeed in a new endeavor. We will definitely come again when cooler, drier days return! View all feedback.
What Martyna Rutkowska doesn't like about Pretto:
Food was very good, service was friendly but a bit slow. Ambience was nice cozy on a cold night. We went early so we were the only ones there at first and therefore can't really comment on noise. We had our toddler with us and they charged $15 for a bowl of spaghetti with butter. We are used to paying more than we should for this dish at NYC restaurants, but this one was a bit much.
