We have been to The Lord Clyde on a number of occasions, and have always been impressed by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. This was the first time we had been for Sunday lunch. We ordered a range of starters, mains and desserts, and every course was delicious. The roast beef just melted in the mouth, and the Yorkshire puddings were huge; we were even supplied with extra gravy. The ambience was perfect. We paid just under £30 per head for three courses, alcohol and coffee, which is great value considering the quality of the food. Thanks very much for another great dining experience in Cheshire's finest restaurant.
We had a set menu in the afternoon. It was well presented with sufficient portion size and all for £32. They have an excellent wine list as well. Make sure you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
We went with the expectation that we were going to eat something we had seen on the online menu. It was a set menu for sunday lunch which was ok the food was cooked beautifully and fresh. When we asked about menu For another visit still the menu was different to online. When we enquired why we were told the menu changed all the time. Not sure it mentions this online i need to go and have a look. The service was lovely and very friendly staff but there seemed to be something missing. Maybe we need another visit before i can judge.
We visited on a Friday lunchtime, and had the tasting menu with paired wines. The food was excellent some of the dishes were absolutely outstanding, and the paired wines were excellent too. Staff were great exactly the right balance of friendly and knowledgeable, and very professional. The decor is a bit sparse, and they seem to just have the bog standard dark wood pub tables, so the ambience could perhaps get warmed up a bit (metaphorically), but overall that's a small point in a generally excellent experience.
