Was Ryder P at Lord Clyde a mag?
We visited on a Friday lunchtime, and had the tasting menu with paired wines. The food was excellent some of the dishes were absolutely outstanding, and the paired wines were excellent too. Staff were great exactly the right balance of friendly and knowledgeable, and very professional. The decor is a bit sparse, and they seem to just have the bog standard dark wood pub tables, so the ambience could perhaps get warmed... View all feedback.
What Wellington Alcantara dislikes about Lord Clyde:
chef seriously came by and we talked about the meal. for me, his eating has been a little dressed since januar. we really liked it at that time, but it's much more together, maybe jealous and less fussy and technology driven. he mentioned the influence of his time to work a stage in Frantzen/Lindeberg (now only french, where the elements are paired and are simplified to a few. it's just the right amount of creativity... Heard very good comments. Welcome was 2nd to none. Atmosphere was marred with a continually screeching child. Partner was pleased with his meal. I not so, chose chicken and mushroom pie and I could find 2 small pieces of chicken. If we go again I will probably opt for pizza. Staff were brilliant though cannot fault them Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2
Great little pub, the service was excellent, really friendly. Nice food with a small but good menu. Good for dogs. Clean, nice beer and overall fully recommend it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We have been to The Lord Clyde on a number of occasions, and have always been impressed by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. This was the first time we had been for Sunday lunch. We ordered a range of starters, mains and desserts, and every course was delicious. The roast beef just melted in the mouth, and the Yorkshire puddings were huge; we were even supplied with extra gravy. The ambience was perfect. We paid just under £30 per head for three courses, alcohol and coffee, which is great value considering the quality of the food. Thanks very much for another great dining experience in Cheshire's finest restaurant.
