Was Madelyn Pacocha at Cinnabar a mag?
I am asian. For me, the food is very authentic yet with a cheeky modern tweak. The decor and atmosphere are luxurious which makes it a perfect place for a special occasion or if you are entertaining interstate or overseas guests. The staff are extremely friendly which is kind of unusual for asian restaurant (forgive my bluntness..)
Surprisingly, great services, superb food and pleasant diving envir... View all feedback.
What Micaela Ruecker dislikes about Cinnabar:
Ordered a number of dishes - the food were nice, service decent but the dishes are very expensive for what you get. The serving sizes were also slightly on the small side.I do understand it's in a premium location with a nice view outside, but I personally prefer somewhere that has better value for money. That said, the decors and lighting are funky, giving off a modern vibe View all feedback.
Modern Australian cuisine amazing menu, fantastic wine list that's very reasonable with impeccable service great ambiance fantastic tunes.
Atmosphere is lovely. Spring rolls and dumplings were quite good, the eggplant was delicious however I was not a fan of the noodles - they were very dry and resembled maggi 2 minute noodles. On the expensive side, wasn't bad but wasn't spectacular.
We went there on a weekday night, the decor of the restaurant is impressive. However, that's all that's good about this place. The price point and the ambiance suggests that it's a fine dining chinese restaurant. However when the waitress came to take our order, and we had questions about the menu, she didn't know much about the menu but she wouldn't make an effort to go and ask the chef about the details until we asked her to. The waitress didn't have much knowledge about the very unclear menu. Her service was nothing more than a take away outlet. Seemed like she had no experience in serving guests in a fine dining restaurant at all. There wasn't much variety of chinese tea considering the fine dining experience it suggests. When the food arrived, they're nothing more special than take away chinese outlet. The taste is blend and the portion is small. For the wagyu wasabi beef that costs almost $30, you can get better and more tasty version of it at other chinese restaurant in civic for half the price. On top of that, they over charged us for the steam rice. Luckily, I noticed it on the bill and got them to rectify the situation on the spot. Overall, I wouldn't go back to Cinnabar again. It is not surprising that everytime I walked past it, it always looked empty, although other kingston foreshore restaurants are always full and busy.
I had a fantastic experience dining in the private dining room. The decor was amazing, especially the feature wall. The food was delicious, with the duck rolls, kung pao chicken, wagyu beef, and tofu soup standing out as my favorites. Thank you to Sonny and Vivian for the exceptional service. Wishing you and your staff continued success.
We have dined at this restaurant multiple times and have always been impressed. The food is expertly prepared and the service is both friendly and efficient. While all the dishes we have tried have been tasty, some standout favorites include the dry chili beef, duck floss cones, beans in XO sauce, and drunken chicken. Cinnabar takes traditional Chinese dishes and elevates them to a new level. One standout dish is the pineapple sweet and sour pork, served in a half pineapple and bursting with flavor. The elegant and beautifully decorated space provides the perfect setting to savor modern, fresh flavors crafted by skilled chefs from Hong Kong. We are thrilled to have this new addition to the foreshore!
