Enjoy a traditional French meal starting with an aperitif such as a kir or a glass of wine, paired with pre-starters like olives, peanuts, or a charcuterie cheese plate. Indulge in entrees that will tantalize your taste buds, followed by a satisfying dessert to end your meal on a sweet note.

Was Anonym at Embassy97 a mag?
There's nothing innovative or new about this French restaurant. It's all good traditional food - well presented and well prepared. Whether it's pate or escargot, canard a l'orange or bouillabaisse, you won't be disappointed. We sat out in the pleasant, private courtyard, were well looked after by our young (admittedly Italian) waiter and enjoyed our night out. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Embassy97:
We tried mussels in a cream and white wine sauce, that was nice...THe scallops were also nice... The risotto was bland and not creamy as a good risotto should be.. Not enough taste either... The boeuf bourguignon , looked dry and unappetising .it also had no flavour... The place lacks ambience and is cold... Service was okay.. View all feedback.

Chanced upon this restaurant while strolling through Fitzroy street in St. Kilda looking for a place to have dinner. We were attracted by the quaint look of this small restaurant and decided to try it out. The food was fantastic. My wife ordered the lobster and prawn ravioli which she thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the steak and it was possibly the best steak I've ever had. The mushroom sauce that came with the stake was just too good.
The French restaurant had reasonable prices. I tried the beef wellington, which was good, but I would have preferred it cooked less. The sauce that accompanied it was bland. Despite this, I still finished my meal. My husband ordered the eye fillet steak, but they were out of béarnaise sauce, even though it was listed on their website. It would be a good idea for French restaurants to have someone make it fresh daily, as it is a staple on the menu. They should update their online menu if they cannot provide it. I may give it another chance if they can serve the béarnaise sauce with the steak, and I am willing to pay extra for it.
