On a cold weeknight in St Kilda, we decided to try out this French bistro for some quality food. Although it was a bit pricey, the food was undeniably excellent. We both enjoyed our steaks - one was a classic eye fillet and the other was a French twist on beef wellington. The mushroom sauce was particularly delicious. We also had some pomme frites and Kronenbourgs, which were satisfying. For dessert, we had a 70% cocoa mousse and a lemon tart, both of which were delicious. There was a slight hiccup with our entree being forgotten, but it wasn't a big issue in the end. Overall, the food was good but the prices were high for the setting and atmosphere of the restaurant. However, if you're willing to splurge, you'll leave satisfied and with your taste buds happy.
The food was sublime, the service was efficient and our waiter was very friendly. Not to mention, the crème brûlée we ordered for dessert was probably one of the best I've had. We visited on a Sunday evening which may have been the reason the restaurant was relatively quiet, but this place deserves so many more customers! If ever in St Kilda, do yourself a favour and visit Embassy@97.
