Was Anonym at Thacher Rye a mag?
we have eaten here often for special occasions and the cook is always ready to work with us, including making special dresses for my gluten-free, vegan friend. as well, each court is an artwork as they can see. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Thacher Rye:
we have made our jubilee in hope for a special experience. when we told our server that we do not drink alcohol, there was a noticeable change in his demeanor. my wife asked for mocktail options and there was only one he knew. we haven't chosen this since any other choice. if we are ordered to eat the server implies, we should order more than we did even though we insisted we ordered enough with detree and shared tab... We were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary. This was our first time and we will return. Our meal was OUTSTANDING! My wife had the tasting menu, which featured phenomenal food and I had the halibut and mashed potatoes. Both were superb. A very nice dining experience.
The best part of our evening was actually waiting for our table at the bar. The ambiance and service there was perfect. Once we made it to our table the ambiance, service and atmosphere went downhill. It felt more like mom and pop joint where we were sat and kind of like a hospital cafeteria, it was clean, neat, and lots of hustle and bustle but no ambiance. The food was okay, fried cheese was a bit greasy and too hard/crunchy. Lasagna was runny and the pork loin was dry but it tasted like it was dipped in au jus to moisten it and/or bring it back to life which made the bed of sweet potatoes taste more like a soupy mixture of cabbage, juice and potatoes. The Bistro steak was cooked medium which is how it was ordered but it was super chewy. The best part of the meal was the latte. We opted out of dessert and left. All in all the evening was good for us and we enjoyed each other's company but the experience at T&R was lacking and not what it was made out to be when we looked at online/social media reviews. 2-3 stars, next time we'll just stay at the bar area for the entire evening.
Everything was incredible! Really enjoyed all of the food, the service was also wonderful! As per usual, chef Voltaggio never dissapoints. The food from beginning to end was so good as were the drinks! Highly recommend this place.
Recently, my wife and I dined at Thacher Rye for the first time. We were not sure what to expect, but regardless of what those expectations might have been, this place exceeded them. The atmosphere was warm and inviting from the moment we walked in thefront doors. The hostess that greeted us was friendly and helpful. Anna G curated our dining experience and did so incredibly. She was knowledgeable and answered any questions that we had, and she was friendly and personable. She acknowledged my birthdayas well. The food was well-prepared and delicious, and was delivered to our table exactly when we needed it. The starters(Parker House Rolls and Oysters) were beyond what we expected and the main courses (Burger and pork loin) were delectable. Thecheesecake and an After Hours cocktail were the perfect finish to an amazing meal. This may have been our first time here, buteveryone made us feel like valued guests. I don't think I could have been made to feel more welcome even if we were regulars.Everyone made this an incredible experience and a birthday I will remember for a long time. Though we are only here temporarilywhile my wife works as a travel nurse, we will be sure to be back when we are in the area again. Thank you to everyone for anamazing night.
Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. This is Bryan Voltaggio's restaurant and it did not disappoint. The inside of the restaurant was very warm and inviting. The staff was excellent and extremely attentive to our table as the we progressed throughour courses. The quality of the ingredients and of the food was unmatched in taste and presentation. A top tier experience forsure and one that I will definitely be going back for.
