Feedback
Nestled in Epping, this modern British restaurant has become a topic of discussion, eliciting mixed sentiments from diners. While the ambiance is charming and the staff attentive, the food and service often leave patrons wanting more. Several reviews highlight the average quality of dishes, with a particularly bland steak and limited vegetarian options. Though the venue is aesthetically pleasing, the overall dining experience can be marred by inconsistencies, such as delays in service and a lack of acknowledgment for special occasions. Despite the potential, many guests feel that improvements are necessary before considering a return visit.
Food was awful. Service poor. Ambience very average. Prices were high. This was champagne money for beer quality experience.
This restaurant is a beautiful spot for a special occasion meal. It is on the pricier side, but definitely worth it. My only critique would be the loud music; however, it did help drown out the sound of a crying baby whose parent seemed oblivious. This isn't really the restaurant's fault. I might consider dining here on a Sunday to avoid larger families, but overall, it was a great experience.
The food is fairly average, which is a real shame. It 's good to see a place like this open in Epping, offering a modern British menu and there is definitely the market for a decent restaurant rather than the plethera of overpriced kebab places that pop up everywhere in Essex now. However, the food was just a bit 'Meh '...nothing was good, the steak at £36 (with no sides) was bland and poorly seasoned, the John Dory was ok, but poorly matched with padron peppers. My advice to the owners is to invest in hiring a top chef, people don 't mind paying good money if the food is good....it 's a nice venue, but I doubt I 'll come back again for the food.
It's a new venu that is trying to find its feet, was great to try it out but the food Vs value just isn't there. Would I go back again... Probably. I feel it the new year they would have got there flow and the food would catch up with the venue finishes. The waiting staff where very good, new to the job it seemed but very polite and helpful.
