While some reviewers noted issues with service and food quality, others praised the atmosphere, selection of beverages, and friendly staff. The pub features three floors, outside seating areas with castle views, and a wide array of drinks, including local favorites like Belhaven and Innis Gunn. Visitors enjoyed dishes like fish and chips, steak ale pie, and haggis fritters. Overall, The White Hart offers a charming experience with room for improvement in service and menu options.
What Kathrin Weiser likes about The White Hart Inn:
Typical Scottish pub. Whenever we come to Edinburgh we eat here. Unfortunately, the service has declined significantly in recent years. There were discrepancies between the online menu and the one on display in the pub. Despite the very small menu, there was a vegan main course, a chili, which was very tasty! Absolute recommendation. Unfortunately the mac and cheese wasn't good. The haggis is consistently good. View all feedback.
What Patrick Graham doesn't like about The White Hart Inn:
Oldest pub in Scotland 1516! Enjoyed a a few drinks.....we relished the thought of history attached. But must say service not great and hot chips we ordered not great...over done, hard and not seasoned at all. Add a bit more service and better food...and the experience will be all encompassing and magic! View all feedback.
