The Bridge Inn at Ratho is located on the banks of The Union Canal, just 7 miles west of Edinburgh in the charming village of Ratho. Since taking over in 2010, Graham and Rachel Bucknall have lovingly refurbished the inn to create a stunning restaurant overlooking the canal, a waterside terrace, four cozy bedrooms, and a welcoming fire-lit bar. Our pride lies not only in crafting delicious dishes but also in partnering with local suppliers to showcase the finest Scottish produce. Head Chef Ben curates a menu that changes with the seasons, offering perennial pub favorites like fresh haddock with hand-cut chips and a weekly pie special. Indulge in dishes featuring venison, hake, pigeon, salmon, hand-dived scallops, and our exquisite 35-day-hung beef, with locally shot game available in season. We take pride in growing and raising much of our own produce, working in collaboration with our gardener Charlie to ensure the freshest ingredients land on your plate, often the very same day they are harvested. Our walled garden, just 200 yards along the canal towpath, produces a bounty of seasonal vegetables year-round, from carrots and potatoes to salad leaves and beyond. Even our own apples, rhubarb, and nettles are transformed into delectable dishes like crumble and homemade nettle soup. Lastly, our saddleback pigs enjoy a life in the great outdoors and are lovingly cared for by the whole family, ensuring that their happy life translates into exceptional flavor in cuts like pork loin, fillet, belly, sausages, and crackling, all sourced from our very own pigs.

Went here in a ver6 large group and was really impressed with everything considering how many of us 5here were all eating at once. We had ordered food before the evening which would have helped but all went very smoothly and food and service was great. Bar had a great choice of beers as well so all good. Lovely location by the river where we stood to have some drinks before heading to the restaurant View all feedback.
