Was Anonym at Panera Bread a mag?
Panera Bread offers self-service ordering and text message notifications for dine-in pickups, making the process very efficient with accurate orders and tasty food. The only downside is that on my last three visits, they were out of all tea options, so I had to ask for a new brew and wait. However, the staff has always been friendly and accommodating. What Anonym dislikes about Panera Bread:
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant due to their poor service. I ordered soup and a sandwich, and I had to wait 50 minutes for my meal. As a result, I was late returning to work from lunch. Despite acknowledging my situation, they still took a long time to serve me. The manager seemed overwhelmed and confused by the whole ordeal. Overall, it was a terrible experience! View all feedback.
The restaurant uses a self-ordering system at the counter and sends text message notifications when the food is ready for pickup. The process is very efficient and the orders are always accurate. The food is delicious. The only downside is that during the last three visits, they have been out of tea (all options) and I have had to ask for assistance and wait for a new batch. However, the staff have been very friendly and accommodating about it.
I used to frequent this restaurant regularly, but recently the staffing has significantly declined. My takeout order was over 20 minutes late, and a car at the drive-thru window had to repeatedly honk their horn because they were being ignored. To make matters worse, my takeout order had avocado smeared on the outside of the wrapper, even though there was no avocado included in my order.
On November 21, 2022, I ordered two Panera Duets with cups of soup for lunch. The Napa Almond sandwiches were supposed to include chicken, but there was none on either sandwich. I attempted to call the restaurant several times over the course of two days but couldn't get through. I've always enjoyed Panera, but I won't be coming back to this location.
Three out of four ordering devices were out of order, so we had to wait a long time to place our orders on the one available device. It seemed like there was no effort to fix the broken equipment; one device was even missing during my last visit. Alternatively, we could order at the cashier. However, one employee kept chatting with other customers, ignoring those of us waiting in line. I even said "excuse me" once, but she ignored me and returned to the cashier with a very rude attitude. Overall, my experience at this location was disappointing. UPDATE: Each time I visit this location, something frustrating happens. This time, I couldn't pay on the device and ended up having to place my order again through the app.
I ordered a chicken sandwich. That was it. As a long-haul trucker, I explained how the delivery driver could find me at my location. Our headquarters has a small parking lot for trucks, so it shouldn’t have been difficult. The estimated delivery time was 6:33 PM. When it got to 6:45 PM, I called to check in and was told that my order had been picked up but that they had no way of tracking the driver’s estimated arrival time once that happened. An hour later, still no food. At that point, I figured it wasn’t coming. I called back for a refund, but no one answered. The phone just kept ringing until it disconnected on its own—twice. Finally, on the third try after several rings, someone picked up. They ended up canceling my order and processed my refund. As a trucker, I could have disconnected from my trailer and driven my truck to Trader Joe's, but I chose to stay put and wait for my food. That turned out to be a bad choice, and I ended up going to bed without any dinner. Panera used to handle their own deliveries, but now they’ve outsourced them to companies like Uber Eats and DoorDash. Last January, when I was down with COVID for a month, I relied on Panera’s food deliveries—they were the only thing that made me feel better. However, I’ve decided I won’t order from Panera anymore, not after they changed their delivery system, and I also won’t be using DoorDash or Uber Eats again. The employee I spoke with mentioned that since they stopped delivering their own food, complaints like mine have become quite common.
