**Dining Experiences at a Broughty Ferry Gem** At a recent visit to a Broughty Ferry restaurant, patrons experienced a range of service and culinary quality that varied significantly. While some diners raved about delightful dishes such as perfectly cooked seafood and beautifully presented meals, others faced disappointing service and overcooked steaks. Complaints centered around slow service, lack of availability of menu items, and unassuming ambiance that detracted from the dining experience. Despite mixed reviews on execution and atmosphere, many guests acknowledged the quality of the food when it met expectations, suggesting the restaurant's potential shines through, albeit inconsistently. We had an outstanding dining experience with delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented food in a clean, modern, and comfortable setting. Every dish we tried was fantastic, making it hard to choose wrong from the menu. The wine selection was excellent, fairly priced, and served in appropriate glassware. The staff were friendly, efficient, and attentive, which added to our enjoyment. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will certainly return the next time I'm in the Ferry. Meal type: Dinner.
For our appetizers, we both ordered the scallops. They were large, beautifully presented, and incredibly delicious. I chose the red deer for my main course, which was juicy and tender, while my wife had the beef, which was equally delightful. For dessert, we indulged in the apricot frangipani tart and chocolate mousse—both were exceptional. Overall, we had a fantastic meal at a reasonable price. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the selection and quality of wines by the glass. If you find yourself near Dundee, definitely book a table here and treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience!
I dined in for lunch and found the experience to be outstanding. The price per person was around £30–40. As for the food, it was a perfect 5 out of 5. The service was equally exceptional, receiving a 5 as well. The atmosphere was just as impressive, also earning a solid 5. I highly recommend trying their creative version of Sticky Toffee Pudding, the scallops, and the pan-fried beef fillet.
I dealt with Jarmila to organise a gift voucher for the restaurant and she went above and beyond with helping me organise and deliver the gift. I’ll not hesitate to go in when I’m next in Broughty Ferry especially after seeing Collinsons on the Michelin Recommended list ! Service: 1
