Was Elsie Holmes at De Luca a mag?
this is the third or fourth time that we ate at this place and probably deserve a comment. no fine eating, but excellent service and eating in a relaxed atmosphere. it is definitely advisable to book in advance - a small bar area where guests can relax while waiting for a table, ensures a good reception. the service at the table is good and supports a good menu that ranges from pizza to traditional, with the kitchen... What Leonardo Effertz dislikes about De Luca:
we were with a large group during the intertabac exhibition. the location is not central, but the inner is very nice (but a little cold). eating was ok, some eat very well, some standard. the service was slow and the managerin (here) has clearly shown that she does not like her job. when you asked her something, she twisted with the eyes...Okay - but nothing special at all View all feedback.
We have booked for happiness, as this excellent family-run restaurant was full at the arrival of our main court. the workers were very helpful. I had a great Argentine bark fillet, followed by cream caramel and some Italian pudding wine. the primitivo red was as good as expected and we moved to the bar for another one for the road! the bar attracts well-healed friends, families and colleagues. it is located near the stadium and the exhibition center. I will come back to my next visit.

A very nice piece of jewellery on the heavily driven b1 opposite the westfalenhalle. great place with beautiful decorations. very courteous and friendly staff. eating tastes great and is well prepared. great desserts. so beautiful that we went twice.
The De Luca is purely visually one of the most elegant restaurants in Dortmund. At first glance, the small but fine restaurant invites you to stay in a cozy atmosphere, but unfortunately the appearance fades. If it gets a bit full, the noise level is so enormous that a cozy conversation at the table can be quite exhausting. Unfortunately, it is also necessary to measure the service that is impeccable at the first impression. At the beginning, he murmurs great with aperitif and menu recommendations, but during the course of the visit, I felt long waiting times for new drinks and the main course as disturbing. With regard to food, we must say full of recognition, in Dortmund and the surrounding area there are not many restaurants that can reach these delicacies the water.
We had reserved a table for 4 people on the occasion of my wife's birthday on Friday night. When we arrived, it was noticed that next to us there were long rows of tables for 10 people each.... total for 70 people who arrived shortly afterwards. Young people who obviously came from the Westfalenhalle and were invited to dinner by the company. The noise level was unbearable and we were no longer able to entertain. The constant race of the people, right past our table, reminded of a railway station hall rather than a restaurant that claims exclusivity. The food was also quite inconvenient due to the stress in the kitchen. I first ordered snails in pepper sauce. As it turned out later, it was the same sauce that my wife had later on her steak. As a main food I ordered variations from quality fish and two other guests different steaks as well as once Saltimbocca. The supplements for the fish and the steaks were completely identical and quite taste-neutral. 4 half small carrots with a hint of rosemary, with some leaf spinach, a few steamed carrots and a cauliflower....Thats it!! The claim that the restaurant raises and the prices that are required for the food are in no proportion to what we served. A normal Grappa Prosecco, which I ordered after dinner, was 16!! Euro calculated. Overall, we had 260 for 4 people. to pay euro, which is in no proportion to the services provided. A telephone call with the management the next day also did not yield any results. For us who have been in De Luca several times, this location has settled due to insufficient price performance ratio.
