We had dinner at Grass Rootes and even though the place was busy, we were seated at a table within just a few minutes. The service was outstanding! The servers frequently came by to offer us more drinks and check in on how we were doing, often before we even thought to ask for anything. The children's menu had plenty of options for the little ones to choose from. The food was delicious, the live music added to the atmosphere, and the drinks were fantastic. If there's one thing to mention as a minor complaint, it's that the specials list was a bit overwhelming. By the time the waitress listed everything, we had forgotten some of the earlier options she mentioned. Overall, we will definitely be returning! Great job to all the staff!
Staff was amazing.... ambiance was epically ecclectic and food was precision (so much care and love in this soul inspired food! Chef came to our table just to make sure everything was on point... I would frequent this establishment when in Culpeper!
Love the atmosphere, grew up and returned to Culpeper on a regular basis, I love the history and the wonderful changes on Davis Streer! Great music, great food and service was amazing!
Pretty patio for outdoor dining. Good mushroom ravioli with shrimp. Lamb lollipops were a delicious appetizer. They sold out of the dessert I wanted to try, several other options also on offer. The staff are nice, they just come by too often for mypreference, though I know lots of folks like that interaction.
We did the $35 restaurant week deal, and thought it was overpriced. Food was good, but the main entrees were all under seasoned. The dessert was probably my least favorite, the chocolate cake was bitter and the frosting was gritty. One persons appetizer wascompletely forgotten, which happens its busy. Another problem was a staff member kept running in and out to smoke in the back, and it drafted into the restaurant and that's all I could smell for a bit.
