My daughter and I recently dined in the bar at the Emmet Hotel in Clonakilty. We ordered two toasted specials with chips and tea. We were a bit surprised to receive our toasted specials on open brown bread, which didn’t look very appealing. While the taste was okay, it wasn’t what we had expected. Had eaten in the resaurant a good few years ago and it was very good, with over generous portions. This time we ate in the bar, same menu as the restaurant. Portions were more manageable, and the food was good, and a reasonable price.
Neighborhood shop where you can get multiple interesting and sometimes surprising things, it's worth visiting!
It's funny to read the reviews about the deli staff. We didn't order from them but they were scowling at us from behind the meat counter. As a tourist, it made me giggle. We shopped the fresh baked goods. So delicious! Made my day to eat those with some salted butter. I would say it was pricey, but hey--it's 2023. We got bread, crackers, packaged meat, yogurt, a block of cheddar, apples, mayo, jelly, Boursin--stuff to make snacks out of...I'd say it was worth it. It was also the closest grocery store to where we were staying, just a quick walk to grab it all. That made it appealing, too. Yeah, it's a cute shop. Customer service is nothing to write home about, but that doesn't bother me at all.
Too much friendly staff and reasonable prices. I am really surprised to buy from this shop.
