The breakfast potatoes are fantastic! I've visited this place many times and always make it a point to order a dish that includes them. They’ve consistently been cooked to perfection every time. View all feedback.
What chicagotoots dislikes about Stax Cafe:
The menu was quite decent, and I ordered the ‘starving student’ option, which included eggs, toast, bacon, and potatoes. It was pretty good and met my needs, even though I was hoping for something a bit lighter. The coffee and service were satisfactory, and the establishment was clean. I have no complaints. It’s also within walking distance of the University of Illinois Medical Center. View all feedback.
This is a solid brunch spot on Taylor street, along with Sweet Maple Cafe. Always a bit crowded, but with the right timing you will wait less than 15 minutes! We had the Denver Omelette and the Taylor St Frittata, which also come with potatoes and a sideof toast, pancakes or waffles ???? ? as you can see, the portion size is hearty and their cappuccinos are pretty good too.??????????
Cute little breakfast place. Service wasn?t the quickest, but they were very busy when we went. Didn?t feel like the potato side had enough seasoning. I would recommend the cinnamon roll waffles!
Everything was very nice the people worked there were friendly and the owner is a very good guy .The food delicious mm yummy
We were told this is the place to have breakfast in Little Italy. However the fame has gone to its head. The service was peremptory with no attempt to make human contact. My eggs were cold and undercooked though my friend’s omelet was good hence the rating is ‘average’ rather than lower. The table next to us was also less than impressed. It is a pity when a good place gets well known and forgets that its reason for existing is the customer.
