Located off the lobby of the historic Carbide Carbon building in Pendry Chicago, Bar Pendry embodies the essence of a classic Chicago cocktail bar. Walk-ins are welcome, while reservations are recommended for the Boozy Tea experience. Designed by the renowned Studio Munge, the elegant lounge features luxurious leather sofas, vintage rugs, cozy banquettes, and a carefully curated art collection. Set around a cozy double-sided fireplace, the 54-person bar offers a range of classic and seasonal cocktails, wines, and local beers, as well as a menu of elevated bar bites crafted by Pendry Chicago’s Executive Chef Jeff Vucko. Don't miss the exclusive Sunday Afternoon Boozy Tea, available by reservation only.

**Afternoon Tea at The Pendry: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** The Pendry's afternoon tea experience has sparked diverse reactions among guests. While the ambiance, featuring a DJ and cozy seating, offers a modern twist on tradition, the service has left many feeling cold and neglected. Issues ranged from unresponsive servers to the inability to accommodate dietary needs or additional orders. On the positive side, guests praised the delicious food, particularly the chicken salad and macarons, as well as the impressive tea selection. Ultimately, while the culinary offerings shine, inconsistent service has tarnished what could be a memorable outing.
The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the service is exceptional! I would definitely return.
I had made reservations for high tea and was initially seated at a lovely table with comfortable chairs. However, after I settled in and while waiting for the rest of my group to arrive, I was asked to move to another table. I complied, but they ended up placing me at a high table near the bar. Once my party arrived, we had to sit there, which was not ideal for a high tea experience. Interestingly, no one was seated at the table from which I was moved. Additionally, they never returned to refill our hot water. Given the numerous options for high tea in Chicago, I wouldn’t recommend the Pendry.
I visited for high tea and had a delightful experience. Everything was delicious, and the atmosphere inside was incredibly cozy. I highly recommend it for a unique outing!
The Boozy Tea experience was exceptional. Food and tea were delicious. The ambiance,decor and dj playing cool music just loud enough to set the scene/mood was enjoyable.
