Good location by the Cathedral, went for dinner based on good reviews but left disappointed. My wife and I both chose prawn risotto for our main course. The prawns hadn't been cleaned I. e. Still had their poo tracks left in, yuk, inexcusable! The tails were left on, don't know why when you can't eat them and it's messy removing them. Directly alongside Chartres Cathedral in what looked like a potentially "touristy" area, we were recommended this place by our bnb host as the kind of place they would go for a Real French meal as locals who were born in Chartres. We could not have been happier; it was the best French meal we had during this two-week visit, and compared very favorably with meals over our decades of visits to France. We asked for the best French meal in Chartres, and got it.
Nous y allons souvent pour prendre un petit café mais un dimanche nous avons déjeuné en terrasse. L'accueil est toujours sympa. Une petite table pour deux en terrasse avec vue cathédrale, il n'y a rien plus jolie. Malgré le monde, nous sommes bien servis. Nous avons mangé un gravlax de saumon qui était juste parfait et ensuite nous avons pris tous les deux du poisson: le thon blanc mi-cuit et le bar grillé. Les plats étaient bons, petit bémol la cuisson du thon qui était plutôt bien cuit. À refaire!
Des plats généreux, un personnel accueillant, encore une belle surprise à chartres ! Et merci à notre serveuse "Garance?" qui a su nous faire rire avec sa bonne humeur alors que je n'étais pas dans mon meilleur jour !

Nice place to have a drink with a plain view on the cathedral. Even more enjoyable with a light sunshine.
