They have a great concept, and the waitress we had was super sweet and on top of everything. However, the first meal they brought me was ice cold. I got the braised lamb shank and the potatoes were flavorless and seemed like they had chance come out of the fridge. To their credit, they made me another meal. I got the pork tacos. The tacos were good, but the rice and black-eyed pea mix was also flavorless. It desperately needed some salt. Honestly, we were really looking forward to eating there, but we probably won't go back. It is just too expensive to not be awesome.

We were seated promptly, but it took a w... read more My partner and I were in the area and decided to celebrate our anniversary, so I made a reservation at this restaurant. We were seated promptly, but it took a while for our server to come to our table, and we eventually had to ask for assistance. Interestingly, other tables that arrived after us were attended to right away. Because of this delay, we missed out on happy hour. When I asked about a possible discount due to the service mishap, the server said she would check on it. We did receive a discount, but only when the bill arrived. The server seemed indifferent and was not very engaging. We had chosen this restaurant based on its positive reviews, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations for such a special occasion. On the positive side, the food was delicious. We enjoyed the chicken fried steak, blackened shrimp pasta, and esquites.

I really appreciate the story behind this restaurant; they cultivate many of the ingredients on their own farm, which they use in their dishes. The wine selection was impressive and top-notch. The atmosphere was fantastic. Abby, the bartender, was wonderful and even divided our dinner for us without us asking, making it much easier for my husband and me to share. We will definitely return when we're in the area again.
