Cody's in Bridgeport is emerging as a beloved culinary stopover, blending a modern atmosphere with an inviting feel. Diners rave about the incredible food, particularly standout dishes like the pub burger and chicken and waffles enhanced by a delectable sesame aioli. Overall, the flavor combinations impress, though some patrons note extra charges for sides. While service can be hit-or-miss, with occasional timing issues, the friendly staff, especially the bartenders, contribute to a welcoming experience. Whether you're in for a casual dinner or a lively brunch, Cody's promises delightful meals that keep guests returning happily.
Our server was good. He was friendly and it was clear he was just trying to follow the rules of his job. I met a friend from out of town here this evening at 8pm. We sat down and were immediately informed, after ordering water and local beers, that this was “last call.” Ok. I’m just trying to take someone out to dinner, certainly not trying to party after closing at a club. So that’s a turn off immediately. Normally, closing times listed are adjusted to last seating and fire kitchen times. If space isn’t taken for those purposes it makes clientele feel truly unimportant, n I don’t like that feeling at all. While my guest and I were finishing our beers we’d ordered two each) an employee went outside and came back inside and SHOOK RUGS THREE FEET FROM OUR TABLE. Basically, we found ourselves apologizing the entire time for even being there. You should know your menu and clientele. You should know how much time it takes to offer someone a meal before making them feel like a burden. If you don’t have the time to do that, then pls close much earlier than 8pm.
They are falsely advertising roast beef as steak tips. We even asked, but was told that they were the same steak tips but were cooked differently... then I found roasted carrots in my steak tips. They aren't fooling anyone. That was roast beef. ...then my wife and I became ill not long after leaving the restaurant. It's a shame, because we really used to enjoy eating there.
Cody captures the essence of dining in a bustling city that's rich in foodie culture. Alongside the high-quality cuisine, the staff's attentiveness is equally impressive. The charming and dedicated bartender called us by name throughout the night and anticipated our needs to ensure our dining experience was as comfortable as possible. The dishes are crafted to deliver optimal flavor rather than merely presenting a piece of edible art, with the appealing presentation being an added bonus. The Korean BBQ Skewer appetizer was absolutely delicious, perfectly complemented by a drizzle of sesame aioli. We shared two entrees that were both outstanding: the Bunjal Curry, featuring a grilled 16 oz ribeye served in a coconut milk curry with goat cheese and South American citrus chimichurri, and one of the evening's specials, Lake Bass served over white rice with a delightful Indian-inspired sauce. I can also highly recommend the nuts and berries cocktails—delicious! I have a long list of items from Cody's menu that I can't wait to try, and I will definitely be returning often.
We ate here for the first time last night, and wow… the pub burger is the best burger I’ve ever eaten. The beer selection is descent and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend the food. The only thing I didn’t care for was the added cost on thefries and dipping sauces. For any other type of fries outside regular it’s an added $3-4.00 and dipping sauces are $0.75 each. They’re not complimentary. The burger was so good, though, all of that became irrelevant and I honestly can’t wait to goback. So good.
Stopped at Cody’s on our way back home this morning. I can’t stop thinking about the sesame aioli that went with the chicken and waffles (as well as the maple syrup and chili sauce). It was to-die-for! My hubby had the hangover helper -Thischef knows flavor combos!!! The mac sauce, combined with the potatoes and some other sweet/spicy sauce blew me away!
