Was Nighthawc at 8042 a mag?
Absolutely the best hotel in Blackhawk. Clean and you can tell someone took the time when renovating this hotel. Elevators definitely need attention. Loved the staff and the Starbucks within the hotel. I would describe recommend this place out of all the properties in Blackhawk View all feedback.
What tbyrdbe dislikes about 8042:
I had a pleasant visit, but there were a few bumps along the way. We had to wait in a long line for over an hour just to check in to our room. It was puzzling why there was only one person at the front desk. Occasionally, another staff member would assist, but then they would vanish again. It was a bit frustrating. View all feedback.
The staff was incredibly friendly, and the rooms were spotless. There’s a good variety of video poker machines and table games available. However, I wish there was a snack bar for a quick bite, like a hot dog. Unfortunately, there was no snack bar open during my visit on a Wednesday night, only a small restaurant.
The Ameristar is very well-maintained, both in the gaming area and the restrooms. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough servers to take drink orders, and the machines are quite tight. I have visited three times, and each experience has been the same. However, I did stay overnight in a room last October, and it was a pleasant and enjoyable experience. With so many casinos to choose from, I don’t think I can continue to deal with machines that are this tight.
This is an excellent casino that is well-located, clean, and has a friendly atmosphere. I accidentally tipped the server $50 for a beer instead of the intended $5. She came back shortly after to confirm if that was my intention, which I really didn't expect. What a lovely person!
If you're not planning to gamble big, it's not worth the money. The experience isn't enjoyable, and the food selection is limited because of staffing issues. The staff is friendly to those who tip generously, but if you just need some help, their attitude seems to change.
I had a quick little getaway that left me wondering about the mattress I slept on and where I could buy one just like it. The room was fantastic, the pillows were comfortable, and the food at the Fireside Grill was delicious. However, I do think there should be more signage in the garage to help people like me avoid circling level 5 twice. If you can point me to where I can get a mattress like the one in room 2906, all will be forgiven!
