Loved the staff and the Starbucks within the hotel. I would describe recommend this place out of all the properties in Blackhawk

The poker room dealers are to... read more One thing I have always rated high about Ameristar is how awesome the dealers, servers and cash cage staff have been professional. The poker room dealers are top notch and make everyone comfortable. I will say go to Ameristar for going on 7 years. Always a good vibe. I have some good nights winning on the slots, nothing to memorable at the tables tbh.but, it's time to remodel i think the book looks great could be better but the casino floor needs a new look. It's old. Notheless it's a good time. Room comps are great, free play about average and staff and personnel are top notch.

However, I wish there... read more The staff was incredibly friendly, and the rooms were spotless. There’s a good variety of video poker machines and table games available. However, I wish there was a snack bar for a quick bite, like a hot dog. Unfortunately, there was no snack bar open during my visit on a Wednesday night, only a small restaurant.

Unfortunately, there aren’t enough servers to take drink orders, and the machines are quite tight. I have visited three times, and each experience has been the same. However, I did stay overnight in a room last October, and it was a pleasant and enjoyable experience. With so many casinos to choose from, I don’t think I can continue to deal with machines that are this tight.
