Been to this place twice now. Had the salmon sumo burrito both times. So delicious. I can't wait to go again and try a new type of sushi burrito. Also, service is super kind and attentive.Food: 5/5 View all feedback.

Sumo Roll is one of the closer sushi restaurants to UC Berkeley. I decided to get take out for my friend and I, and ordered their Dragon Roll and Salmon Set. I ordered both for dine-in previously, and expected the same quality. When I came home, I quickly realized that the Salmon Set was not as described on the menu. Without a doubt, this is our favorite sushi spot. The owners are incredibly kind and you feel well looked after. We initially tried their delicious sushi burritos for takeout, but now we dine in the restaurant to enjoy the full experience. Today we tried the Mexico City roll and it was amazing. The fish was so fresh, it was like eating butter. The house salad is excellent and their shrimp tempura udon left us feeling satisfied and content. Finding parking can be a challenge, but that's to be expected. Please support this restaurant, as I want to be able to dine here every two weeks. Enjoy!
I tried the unagi roll and tobiko at this restaurant and was impressed with the high quality of the ingredients. In my opinion, the Sumo roll is much better than the Kirala roll.
AMAZING MEAL, AMAZING SERVICE! Thanks for a fantastic lunch! An old friend and I went out to a long overdue lunch. We found this place through a quick, yelp search and by proximity to where we were and ended up walking on over for lunch. We were greeted by a few smiling faces telling us to sit anywhere. The menu had some good looking specialty rolls and some of your classics. In addition to fun appetizers, we split one specialty roll and two classic rolls which are a little bit smaller and it was perfect for the two of us. The service was great and everyone was so friendly. The sushi was amazing, the fish was incredibly fresh, and the rice was a perfect consistency. This is easily five stars, and we will be back!
Tried the ramen, a specialty roll and the salmon teriyaki. The egg in the ramen was super overcooked. Specialty roll was pretty good. Salmon and the shrimp tempura was also overcooked. Unfortunately it was also pretty slow. The server was nice and apologetic but overall it’s. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: $20–30
