This old school Chinese restaurant in Berkeley has been a favorite for over 50 years. While the classics like Kung Pao Chicken and potstickers are reliable, the hand-pulled noodles steal the show. Dishes like the garlic pork brisket noodles and beef noodle soup receive high praise. Some find the Sichuan-style noodles too spicy, but many appreciate the authenticity. The Zhajiang noodles may be lacking in soybean paste, but the preserved vegetables Lamb noodles are a hit. With friendly service and a commitment to safety, this spot is worth a visit for a taste of delicious Chinese cuisine.
How can anyone resist hand-pulled noodles? I tried the spicy garlic pork noodles, and the pork was incredibly tender, cooked just right in a rich, spicy brown sauce. The service was attentive yet not intrusive, and the tea was a lovely addition. I will definitely come back!
I've only sampled two dishes from this restaurant: the pot stickers and the Chow Fun that my sister ordered. Both were quite delicious! The Chow Fun included Bok Choy and a mix of other vegetables, and it was really flavorful! I'm excited to try more items from the menu since everything was so enjoyable!
The noodles at this restaurant are truly authentic, although they might be a bit too spicy for some. They have a bold Sichuan style with a strong spicy flavor. I just wish they would serve a larger portion of noodles in each dish. It’s surprising to see so few customers each time I visit; this place really deserves more recognition.
