I had a fantastic dinner at Spelt last night. We’re on vacation here and went with friends we’re staying with. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and very professional. The meals were amazing, cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with the excellent local beer from “Cottage Beer Project.” I highly recommend their “Doodle Pale Ale.” Service: Dine-in.

As always, dining here was a memorable experience. We visited on Monday with our two children during the half-term holidays. Spelt truly is a hidden treasure; from the moment you walk in, you’re greeted warmly, starting with a personal welcome from Paul, the owner. The staff is consistently friendly, warm, and attentive. The food is on another level—every dish is incredibly fresh and delicious, regardless of what you choose from the menu. My children are quite picky eaters, but at Spelt, we all left with clean plates! We can’t wait to return on our next visit. If you're in the area, be sure to book in advance; you won’t regret it!
Trying to think of a time I ate out and had nicer food. We had hake and blade of beef. Both were amazing examples of what can be done with local produce.
