Description

**Muchacho: A Vibrant Experience with Room for Improvement**

Muchacho, located in a revitalized space near the Beltline, boasts a lively atmosphere perfect for solo diners or groups. While the ambiance shines with inviting decor and a welcoming outdoor area, the ordering system can create congestion. The menu, while featuring highlights like the carnitas and a delicious burrito, often leans towards standard Tex-Mex, leaving some dishes feeling underwhelming. Though cocktails may miss the mark, the attentive service and unique coffee offerings elevate the experience. Ideal for casual visits, Muchacho stands out more for its vibe than culinary authenticity, appealing to those seeking a trendy dining locale.

I visited this place for coffee and ordered a macchiato, which was fantastic. The atmosphere is wonderful, and I have no doubt the food is excellent as well.

Muchacho was as aesthetically pleasing in person as it’s depicted on Instagram. The line was about a 10-15 minute wait for a Saturday around 2PM , but it moved decently fast and don’t expect to be seated. This place is open seating so make sure you either order ahead or risk waiting in line. Overall the food was pretty tasty, the fries were crisp and well seasoned, the shrimp burrito was filled with shrimp which I can’t say the same for other shrimp burritos I’ve tried. The spicy margaritas are super tasty, you can barely taste the alcohol and if you’re feeling adventurous ask for it extra spicy for a big kick! Super chill vibes here

The heartbreaking part is that we missed out on breakfast tacos by 4 minutes (make it there before 11am! , but we were just as happy going into lunch tacos early because they were delicious and it’s a lovely space. Chicken mole, barbacoa, al pastor and fish tacos were all juicy and flavorful, and my sorghum shaker was the coffee drink I didn’t know I needed.

Muchacho is most definitely not an authentic Mexican spot but more so influenced traditional Mexican style fare. The service was beyond awesome, trendy locality(a large array of similar businesses experience success in areas undergoing gentrification)the aesthetics(what most gushed about)was pleasingly cute along with the music selection. Just the service alone left a desire for me to return especially for an aqua fresca or one of their many mixed drinks.
