What a find while on business travel. The marinara sauce has incredible flavor and zest, served warm with hot mozzarella sticks. The pizza crust has a warm Italian bread flavor. What Hanomag S dislikes about Borrelli's:
I'm sorry to say that my experience at the buffet was disappointing. The chicken and eggplant Parmesan, stuffed shrimp, and stuffed cheese rigatoni were all lacking, resembling typical pizzeria fare rather than anything special. When I inquired about the Caesar salad dressing, the staff simply replied, “we don’t make that,” which left me wondering what, exactly, they do prepare. Overall, I found the meal to be quite... The food was disgusting. The chicken Parmesan came on a plate swimming in spaghetti sauce water. The chicken was a huge piece of rubber, clearly the entire plate had been microwaved. The grilled chicken for the bruschetta was also microwaved, it was floppy. The baked clam appetizer was equally gross, the clams had been opened but not cleaned, they were filled with sand and debris. They were also only partly cooked, making them questionable to eat. A East Meadows institution since the 1950’s for so many reasons. Many visit Borrelli’s for their well known pizza and for me was no exception. We had the large margarita pie baked to perfection with ample sauce and fresh mozzarella. Overall fair pricing and very friendly atmosphere great for family and or get together. A red sauce lovers delight. We had a side of delicious meatballs, shared a small bistro salad, a bowl of Italian Wedding soup (almost as good as my Grandmother's), baked ziti and eggplant parm. There's a reason why this place has been here since the 50's! You can't go wrong at Borrelli's!
