The first time I went I... read more I wanted this place to be my new haunt. And they had the makings for it. Which is why I went back 4-5 times. Always sitting at the bar. The first time I went I ordered the fillet medium rare. It came back well done. I was hungry and didn’t feel like making a fuss for an honest mistake, and the steak was still really tasty despite being very over cooked. I always like to try out the steaks of a place, having served tables at a steakhouse for years while in college. The fillet being my go-to cut. I went back a few more times ordering other items off the menu. Which were also tasty. Then the last time I went back I ordered the fillet again. It came back overcooked again. This time I politely sent it back asking for it to be cooked properly. When it came back, the steak they gave me was cooked properly, medium rare. However, and I know this is a common trick places like to use, they sent me a sirloin in replacement of my fillet. A cheaper, much tougher cut of meat than what I ordered or paid for. But to the eye, looks very similar. It’s also difficult to prove it’s not the right cut of meat, so you’d have to feel like fighting with the manager. Because it was the manager who took my order back to the kitchen and brought my new steak back to me. So it was obvious that he was at the very least, knew about the decision to cheat a customer, and at most is the one who told and approved the kitchen to do it. So I took 2 bites, finished my drink, tipped the bartender well, paid for my food and left. I’m really, really disappointed, and they’ve lost a local who would have been very loyal and always tips well, having been a part of the Okaloosa county service industry myself for years. The bartenders pour wonderful drinks, are friendly and work hard and efficiently. Absolutely on point. The music is wonderful, and the atmosphere relaxing. But to the shady manager, don’t treat your locals like they’re tourists. And don’t order the steak if you like them on the rare side.

We were lucky enough to be one of the first to expirence th... read more We had a lovely welcome from Cheryl and Steve after a long hot journey with cold drinks and nibbles. We were lucky enough to be one of the first to expirence the Lotus Belle star gazing tent. Due to the intense heat for the few days it was to hot to be in the tent but it was too hot to be anywhere other than thier lovely pool. But it was lovely and cool in the mornings and so so peaceful. But during the night on a starry night the tent comes into it's own Laying in a comfortable bed looking up you see a panoramic view of the sky! It is truly magical and I was lucky enough to see a shooting star. My son used the star walk app to identify what we were looking at. We could hear owls hoot, and lots of birds and squirrels. We were provided with everything we needed, fridge, cooking utensils, cooker under a shelter. We were very close to the toilet block and washing up area. The showers are hot and toilets nice and clean. In the evenings we could have a cold beer and good company. Mondays and Fridays are pizza nights and we both enjoyed our pizzas hand made by Cheryl and Steve. There is also a communal BBq to use. There are lots to do in the surrounding lot valley and beyond. We had a lovely time and sad to leave. We have already booked for next year. Thank you for looking after us Cheryl and Steve. You have a beautiful Campsite and work hard to ensure everyone is looked after. See you next year!
