We wanted to relax for a Saturday night and make a good meal. On recommendation we went to the Hotel Roß in Zwönitz. Due to corona, mouth nose protection and hands disinfect are mandatory. So we entered the place and it was already happening. We waited patiently because, due to Corona, at least in the many other federal states, there is room allocation by the Personal Standard. No problem. A single service was to be seen and an inadequately dressed remedy, in a well visited restaurant. After eternal minutes we were pointed out from the distance where our table was located. Friendly and service oriented is different. But good, the operation seemed hopelessly overwhelmed. On a Saturday evening, at a well visited place, this is saved at the wrong end. We were still good things because we all wanted to spend a nice evening. But then the next steamer, the drinks.... Tick Tack Tick Tick Tack Tack... After 15 minutes had been beaten, the operation felt able to accept our drinks. We got a Corona card, which was not hygienicly laminated, but only stuck in a plastic film and then we got to ask ourselves for the wine card, because the service had no idea what it was for wines (traurig but true. From despair we took the wine you were offered to us after erroating. Our mood continued to decline. We were there with child and children are impatient. But well. Still we thought it'd be better... far missed. When the drinks were finally brought, we also wanted to order the food as we didn't want to risk the service disappearing from our field of view for laaaange time. Sayed. After half an hour the service came by and asked if everything was okay and we asked for our food. Well, what am I supposed to say, we were starving and this in a friendly tone. We weren't friendly after that, but finally we wanted to give everything to kindness to get our food. Unfortunately, the operation was very pampering and unfriendly, and there was nothing more to me. I was shocked by so much unfrozenness. Anyone who has worked in gastronomy knows how to behave towards guests. If you already know that it will be full and the preparation time of the food will be delayed, you have to react somehow, be it by baguette with butter or anything else on snacks. No offense, after a three-quarter hour the appetizer finally came. We were looking forward to spices, etc. The canned food we got consisted of more flax than meat and the sauce was so gray. A high on ready-made dishes. Worchester Sauce is always happy to be served as a sausage. In times of Corona always packed individually. Not so in the lap . Here you are always referred to hygiene standards, but then you get the whole bottle (safely not disinfected). Applause, sorry... When the main foods came, we were actually still positive, because it could not be worse. Lachflash,... Meat like shoe soles, carvings burned down below, fish dead, noodles boiled and then without spoons (tagliatelle without spoon to deliver Oh man... and all dishes swoop in fat it was.... underground. The only thing that is really positive about eating was vegetables at one of the dishes, it was fresh and well roasted. even though the fat border has also destroyed much, it is necessary to calculate that it was fresh or at least had the appearance. Pros to mention is only the remedy that was not dressed as it belongs to a hotel and restaurant, but she was so sugar. She knew exactly how to talk to the guests and how to conjure them at least for a moment a smile into the face. Finally, it should be mentioned that the service forces (operation and assistance should provide training regarding the wearing of the mouth nose. At the entrance pay attention to disinfection of guests, no wine card due to corona, but then the menu does not laminate to the guest and so on... The prices were not justified to the food and the quality of service, long not so badly eaten and so badly treated as a guest. Conclusion: Go somewhere else. In Zwönitz there are other, better, high-quality restaurants where guests and their well-being are still important. And... where the cook wants to cook and sees his profession as a vocation. Too bad, after the takeover, I had the hope that it will go up. The location is excellent and could be an audience magnet. But as I said, could... Previously on theme nights, the lap was still an institution. But it's getting worse and worse from tenant to tenant and now it can't go further down. Underground!

The Hotel Roß with its five small guest pieces is considered the oldest host house in Saxony, which is still in operation. Built in 1537 on the former Bohemian Salt Road in Zwönitz, it served as an accommodation and restaurant for the traders. Even today, the house with its well maintained factory façade is well shot and a true eye-catcher at the market square of Zwönitz. It's been a long time since I was here. At this time, a wine trader known in the region, owned by the house, first the hotel and restaurant itself, and then to stay later. Originally there were plenty of wood in the interiors, earthly cosiness. The menu included typical dishes for the region, such as various roasts or goulash with palates, mushroom dishes, steaks and schnitzel and of course also fish. I like to eat trout or carp here. From 2015 onwards, the wine merchant decided to leave the house. However, the search for a solvent buyer was difficult, so after many months of search was a conclusion of the debate. It was invested in the building and a new kitchen and immediately found a tenant who built a steak house. Unfortunately, this engagement lasted only a year, then the guard was gone again. Luckily for the city as owner and the numerous guests, the previously occupied chef took over the house as a new tenant and ran it until today from 2020. Also the former kitchen, which specializes in a good home kitchen, as in Grandma, was added to the menu. Job message early 2023. At the end of January the tenant ends his contract and leaves the lap exactly three years after the takeover. Unfortunately, the search for new operators for the city starts from the very beginning. Finally, it is possible to receive more than 12 thousand euros as a starting aid from a Saxon funding programme for tourism and hospitality.
