Sometimes it's happy coincidences that lead us to a restaurant! After we had eaten poorly at an Italian restaurant, we were happy about two interesting restaurant recommendations from a long-time Zwickau resident the following day. Russian cuisine also sounded really tempting, but the grumpy host couldn't open his teeth even when spoken to in a friendly manner, so we opted for the EGGHEAD across the street, which was also recommended. There was also a much nicer outdoor area and we were given a very friendly welcome. The menu is small but nice. Since we weren't too hungry, we only chose one main course each. For our loved one there was homemade gnocchi with a fruity tomato salsa, cherry tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella and for me a perfectly fried steak from Iberico (Heyer's free-range) with coffee and spices, chanterelles and a wonderfully fluffy potato tree cake. Very good and creative kitchen craftsmanship, here we cook with high-quality ingredients without using any industrial products and you can taste it, we even liked the gnocchi with an ideal consistency. We found the bread with herb quark that was served beforehand less exciting; there would certainly be more creative dips or flavored butter that would be more in line with the demands of this high-quality cuisine. You will also be allowed to complain at a high level. The sole lady in service was extremely friendly and helpful, but seemed a bit overwhelmed. Well, another force may have failed this evening. In the end I decided not to have a second glass of wine, which was unfortunately forgotten and only brought when the plates were taken out. Since I have a weakness for unusual ice cream flavors, I definitely had to try the raspberry-fennel sorbet, really wonderfully fruity, with plenty of fennel but also very reminiscent of cough syrup, possibly great as a component of a dessert variation, but it wasn't for me on its own. Was on the house as a small compensation for the forgotten wine. All in all, we were still very satisfied and made our way to the main market, while there was a dog on the table at the Russian restaurant. Everything done right! 4.5 stars rounded to 5! Recommended!

We ate here for a company party of 10 on a Friday in January. In advance, a vegan menu was suggested to us at our request, which also made our non-vegans very happy that evening. No soy-based meat substitutes, but very well-crafted dishes based on seasonal vegetables and high-quality wines. Gladly again, we felt very comfortable.
