The menu only offers sushi rolls, but I ordered the chef's choice sashimi (with a request for extra shellfish). The shellfish, as well as the eel and tuna, were all exceptional - in fact, there wasn't a single disappointing dish. The eel was so delicious that I ended up ordering an extra piece. I also requested that the sushi rolls include eel and salmon roe, and left the rest up to the chef. Both the fish and rice were incredibly tasty. I've eaten sushi and sashimi at proper restaurants before, both on the Japan Sea side and the Pacific Ocean side, but this sushi restaurant in the mountains surpasses them all. It's incredible. The local sake was delicious - while the cold sake was good, I preferred the warm sake. It goes down smoothly. I hope this sushi restaurant continues to thrive, as I definitely want to return for more.

The assorted roll... read more When staying at Semin Onsen, I occasionally get takeout. Despite being in such a remote location, they always have fresh and delicious sushi. The assorted roll for 1000 yen is also quite filling and highly recommended for a late-night snack.
