Great atmosphere, cosy, and with cool music in the background. Service very friendly. Food is OK, with veggie options Price just too high but this is switzerland, the overall is great and it's not poshy as almost all the other places around.I'll go back. Reserve because it's always full. View all feedback.
What Martin Rüegg doesn't like about Tres Kilos:
Went here for dinner. Dishes are expensive and not worth it.The fresh chips and salsa is a good start though the portion is small. If you're used to good Mexican food (because you grew up with it, lived in California or Mexico), you'll be disappointed.I got the "combination de la casa", which was 36 chf and had a portion of chicken burrito (salty), enchilada (cheesy and good), black beans, Spanish rice (not that grea... Tres Kilos has been here for decades, and it is offering consistently good and in my opinion quite authentic Mexican food. Also at this visit, we were not disappointed and feasted on Fajitas, Burritos, and the like. The Margherita pitcher was nice, but after downing one liter, I was still very sober in a way that I felt this Margherita was more of a fruit juice with veeeerrrrrry little Tequila inside only.
My wife and I moved to Zurich from the US and have had a hankering for Mexican/ Tex-Mex food for quite some time. We visited Tres Kilos with a few friends and were thoroughly disappointed. The food was poor to say the least. The salsa was tasteless, the beans undercooked, the rice soggy, and the meat was hardly spiced. And for this mush we ended up paying around 70 per person! Absolutely the worst culinary experience I've had in Zurich so far.
Huge catastrophe!!! a waitress who doesn't want to listen attentively to the order, but rather is interested in what is going on in the neighboring?!? I had baked the nachos crackers with cheese - and as before 2 months - with three tiny little peels (Guacemola/Avokadopüree, cream frech and freshly chopped tomarenpuree) as a side order / small supplement some chili con carne. I noticed that the picture-hobbies served daughter didn't listen to me at all - but rather interested in what went off in the afterbartically?!The result was a catastrophe!!! an overcrowded, big teller - a sticky sprout, glued with chili con carne and cheese overcrowded and 2 (instead of 3 sauces) - and instead I felt in my life that way about the table - as from this picture-hobbing, unattended served daughter! to my question - whose work that was - she told me - she mistreated it to the chef!? - k e i n wunder I thought - she also didn't want to listen to the order!!! Conclusion:Order yes n i e something that is not exactly the same on the menu!!!
Dry. guacamole is a green tasteless sauce. tomaten have no taste. all made loveless. on the day after that has a large part of the group of bad stomach discomfort. Tres kilos has been a scene restaurant 20 years ago today a load in which I will not go anymore. please take a picture of peddler and other fine tortilla places in the city.
We have been back for a long time and got one of the most comfortable places on a niche table. the service was as always good mood, the service was quick and friendly. the chili con carne came with fresh brot, Mexican chips and once again was a renner.
