We stopped here because it was a brutally hot day and this was the first place we found that served beer. It's a kind of pricey place to drink beer, but the atmosphere was great, and the waitperson kept us laughing. View all feedback.
What BJanez doesn't like about Le Pain Quotidien:
Just popped in for a coffee and croissant. Croissant delicious, though more French style sweet, than traditional Swiss Gipfeli. Hot Coffee came served in a bowl. No handle. Spoon stuck inside it. I burned both my fingers and my mouth trying to take a sip. Asked the waitress if I could please have a normal cup blithe answer was”this is all we have” as she walked off. View all feedback.
Severely overrated and overpriced. Scrambled eggs were served cold and unfortunately reminded of hotel food instead of a nice bakery-restaurant. Eggs-Benedict-nature (no ham) was first served with ham, then without sauce and on a poor piece of bread. The price at the end did not make sense. If I visit again, i will need some convincing to order anything more than a coffee.
Nice breakfast, lot of options, but coffee is really disappointing. They have a proper machine but you could tell that there are no proper Batista's making the coffee (milk is not properly steamed, flat white tastes like a cappucino etc.
They have now significantly improved their vegan selection: avocado tartine (on brot,) grilled vegetables tartine, daily suppe, hummus, guacamole, tabbouleh and two desserts. so they get a very nice selection of things to eat, although most are cold.
The location is right at the foot of the dolderbahn and therefore ideal to get some nutrients before they start their hike. than the others, eating is quite expensive, but freshly prepared and full of taste. especially the brot and the baked are authentique.
I had several times to eat for the removal, but I also went out several times to buy something. I often find no thing that appeals to me, as the vegan options are limited and labels are missing for ingredients and prices. when I buy, it tastes good, but eating is too expensive.
