Inviting friends, thinking we had chosen a good bistro where w... read more What we experienced as very positive in Zottegem was now a disappointment in Sint-Lievens-Houtem. Inviting friends, thinking we had chosen a good bistro where we wouldn't get offended, was not such a good move. We had plenty of time for our aperitif, which is positive, nice with a small snack on the house. The starter came after about half an hour, tasty but not wow. But then, the main course, reserved at 7 p.m., the starter at 7:30 p.m., which is certainly ça va, and we only received our main course at 9:30 p.m. I asked for steak tartare (wasn't there), then steak béarnaise (béarnaise wasn't there either), too bad for a restaurant that has just opened... Then I ordered steak mushrooms, tasty steak, very well cooked but the sauce is out of packets..., the fries from the freezer. That and the long wait means that we give this bistro one more chance (especially because of the friendliness). If it turns out to be the same next time, it will be the last time for us. A tip: if you cook for twice as many tables in Houtem as in Zottegem, provide double the number of staff in the kitchen so that waiting times do not increase and customers return home satisfied.
