Contribute Feedback What Edwin H doesn't like about El Murmullo:
The ideal when you return to a place yearly is the hope that the restaurants you've enjoyed the year before maintain the same quality. Often this is not so and in the case of this restaurant definitely not so. The spinach salad was just so-so with very tough spinach. The shrimp Pernod was a very small portion of shrimp overcooked and overpriced. The chicken curry was also overcoat and not very tasteful. All in all we... View all feedback.
El lugar tiene excelente ubicacion, el servicio muy atento de 10. Los alimentos de buen sabor pero te sirven raciones muy pequeñas como para niño y el precio está un poco elevado....
Buena comida pero muy lento y mal servicio
Buena comida y exelente servicio
Excelentes platillos como su servicio
This restaurant was recommended to us by another visitor in Zihuatanejo. She stated she knew the chef and that the food was great. In our observation if you know the chef you will have great service, but sadly with even with a reservation our experience was just okay. The problem was evident when they seated almost every table in the restaurant all at 6:30. There were at least 5 tables with 6 8. It took 30 minutes to take our order and our food was delivered to our table 2 hours and 6 minutes after we were seated. At the 90 minute mark they came by to apologize and say our food would arrive soon. 30 minutes later we were told five minutes and the first dishes arrived after 7 minutes and the last about 10 minutes after the committed 5 minutes. We understand the kitchen can get backed up. The biggest frustration is that the staff basically ignored the problem for 90 minutes leaving us alone for almost all of that time. The staff brought us more drinks when they told us it would be five more minutes. They also comped our table a free flan for dessert. But they seemed upset with us for not being overly gracious about the fact that we just wanted our food and we heard several apologies that were an apology followed by but... . It was just clear that the tables who knew the chef and staff received a higher priority. I observed two tables being rushed out to make way for friends of the chef. There was another table that came in about 20 minutes after us that also had to wait close to 2 hours for their food. I share all this to say, if you plan to eat here, arrive 45+ minutes before sunset and be sure to connect with the staff. The curries (red and yellow) were very good with solid levels of spice and amazingly fresh veges. The chicken satay had a very good sauce. Great sizes for the portions of rice. The Pad Thai flavor was average it lacked cilantro and was shy on peanuts and no lime. Flan was some of the best we ever had. They have a limited wine menu and several options for beer.
