What User doesn't like about Veranda Zermatt:
That was my least favorite restaurant in Zermatt. We didn’t feel welcomed (it seems like they prioritize those whi stay at the hotel) and the waitress was a little bit rude. We rushed to finish our meal so we could leave quickly One of the meal was delicious (sea bass), but the steak was really tough. View all feedback.
Extremely professional staff, beautifully designed room and delicious dishes
The main course T-bone Steak was hard, underboiled and underseasoned. The salad bar was quite average and unsuitable for price fix five course Christmas dinner. When we arrived, we first sat in a service area next to the salad bar and the dessert station. Ours was the only table in this section. The host seemed annoyed that we would ask to be moved, but he has reluctantly committed our request. The starter (sardines, meat and cheese) was good, but big enough to be a meal in itself. Our waiter has forgotten to bring appetizer plates so that we ate this first course with our bread plates. The second course, the cauliflower soup with chestnuts, was the best dish of meal. The desserts were also good, but that and the soup were not enough to save the experience. The staff seemed harassed and overwhelmed during the meal. I wouldn't come back here.
Very confusing at the entrance to the hotel (restaurant) when collecting coats and instruction at our table. We were standing around for a good 10 minutes before we went to our table, without explaining what was going on. Our waitress, while beautiful, really fought to understand us and was clearly overwhelmed with the number of tables she had to wait for. We had a set, 6 course menu that took almost 3 hours to get through. During this time we were not even checked for drinks. Ambience was very good and the food was delicious but for a 690 Swiss Franc meal, at the end of the night 3 members of our party had to find their own coats in the wardrobe as the participants had lost where they had set them. I would judge the service as bad for the above reasons.
