Arvenstube - Zermatt

Wow! What a terrific dining experience. My husband and I brought my parents to Zermatt for a few days when they were visiting from the U.S. We ate at Restaurant Arvenstube one night and were so pleased by the very diverse menu (there really is something for everyone... meat lovers and vegetarians alike) and the dishes were caringly prepared with only the finest and freshest ingredients. And as the chef is Austrian, we had the wiener schnitzel and boy were we glad we did. It was delicious and was served with parmesan truffle fries on the side... wow, yum! We were also greatly impressed by the warm, wonderful and attentive service. Our hosts for the evening (Theresa and Anna) were so friendly and their hospitality was exceptional they are a real credit to the restaurant. As a famous chef once said, you visit a restaurant for the first time for the food, but you return for a second time for the service. I really think that's true and for that reason, we will definitely be going back next time we're in Zermatt and will certainly be recommending this hidden gem to our friends. This place was packed on a thursday night and honestly the food was great. Nothing too fancy, really good portions and nice ingredients. The only thing that really stood out was the amazing service from Petra, our waitress. We came in quite early, around 630pm and even though the place was full by 7pm, her service stayed perfect. Friendly, courteous and professional. She is also at least fluent in french, english and german, which is a breeze considering some service employees around town. Come in for the food, stay for the hospitality. Would come back for sure!

The restaurant had a very nice ambience. It is located 1 floor below ground. The service was good. Staff speaks English and some other languages. All together a very nice experience.

Went there during lunch time without reservation. The staff kindly requested us to wait for 30 mins to have my table ready. Very lovely and chatty staff. Feels very comfortable with them. This restaurant is located along one of the main street in Zermatt beside Hotel Pollux, very easy to find. The place is very cosy, clean, nicely decorated and homely. Food is good, you should try a variety of their offers. Highly recommended!!!!

Wir haben das Nachtessen sehr genossen und das Service Personal arbeitet professionell und aufmerksam nett. Süsskartoffelcurry und Gemüsetatar schmeckten hervorragend, aber auch das Rindsfilet war ausgezeichnet. Preis/Leistung für mich insgesamt okay, auch wenn ich die Fr 52 fürs Rindsfilet sicher am oberen Ende angekommen sehe.
