Easily our best meal in South Lake TahoeSuch a wonderful atmosphere with attentive and friendly service.
Extremely disappointed with our takeout experience the other nightI'll start with the positives.
We stopped into Capise after checking into our hotel desiring to dine close to our location.
This place a hole in the wall with good vegetarian. The ambiance isn't great, but the food is good and the people running the place are very warm. The best item on the menu are their sandwiches.
We were late for our reservation, but Chuck's kindly held the table for us. Tableside Caesar salad was amazing. Our mains were bit of a wait, but before we could complain, our server apologized and they appeared shortly after. Amazing food and portions were well suited. Our steaks were perfectly done! Due to the small delay in our mains, manager sent over a sinful skor Sundae that although we were much too full for, we devoured. Excellent service and kudos to management for staying on top of service.
Reviews for a restaurant in South Tahoe varied greatly. Some customers complained about slow service, cold and generic food, and long waits. However, others raved about the outstanding experience, friendly servers, and delicious meals. Options like Raviolis and steaks were highly praised, while Capisce was described as a hidden gem with delicious Italian food and a great ambiance. Chuck's Steakhouse also received positive feedback for their fantastic food, efficient service, and complimentary dessert for a slight delay. Overall, while some had negative experiences at restaurants in South Tahoe, others found them to be fantastic dining destinations not to be missed.

Amazing food. Nice atmosphere. They were out of a few things we wanted, but done. We had a great family night.
I decided to try a new Italian place on this side of the lake with my young daughter. They had a children's menu, but she wanted another sauce. The server didn't know how to handle it. Although it was just fine, the food was for example overwhelming, the Focaccia was anemic, only white bread with a few pieces of onion and rosemary and the service seemed stressed. There are better options just a few miles away.
They were clearly understated. Our waitress was very nice, but was also forced into double work as a hostess at the front door. We were not recognized 15 minutes after sitting at the table, then it took 15 to get our drinks. The place was not busy, but of what I could say there were 2 waitresses in total, including ours who also had to do Hostess tasks. If a manager were present, they would have hosted... Unless they cook lol. Again, not to blame the people we saw for everything we know, 2 or 3 people who were sick or so called. But at the same time we had no good experience in all honesty. The food was decent, but not great and definitely not worth what we paid. On a positive note, the restaurant atmosphere and ambience were great. You need some nice comfortable chairs for the huge veranda, tons of wasted space out there.
Great service and good food. They had no gluten-free menu, but I let him know about my allergy and he was ready to take the menu item I wanted and find a way to make it gluten-free. Very interesting information about sauces and preparation of the menu. Thank you for saving me from abdominal pain.
The food was excellent and the daughter of the restaurant (Ariana) provided us with top notch service!

Unfortunately, we were disappointed to learn that the restaurant we drove a long way to visit has permanently closed and is no longer open for business.
I am impressed by your company's ability to book and confirm a reservation at a restaurant that had already closed permanently.
I loved the amazing vegan gravy served on top of fresh zucchini spaghetti. Delicious!
Valentines dinner date; attentive staff but not overbearing. Delicious and authentic food with a relaxing ambiance that still felt lively and upscale. Calamari is excellent as is the baked salmon! Lisa’s Sticky Buns are a must!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service, food decor were awesome. We recommend the cheese ravioli with butter.

We had to wait for an extended period of time in an empty restaurant and bar. The staff mentioned that their computer was down, leading to half of our orders being lost. However, there was no effort made to address the issues or apologize for the significant delay. We will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.
